MassNetComms

MassNetComms is not a lobbying organization but we do help to promote member views geared to promoting innovation and economic growth in the state. Toward that end, MassNetComms staff, Board members, and member company officials sometimes testify at hearings, submit letters of support for or opposition to certain bills and proposed policies, and also submit op-eds or contribute to blogs on given subjects. In addition, MassNetComms:

• Takes an active role in Governor Patrick's IT initiative.
• Was a founding member of the IT/Communications Study Group, an ad-hoc organization put together to conduct a study of the industry's impact on the state's economy.
• Participates at various levels on issues related to workforce development and science and technology education.
• Closely monitors taxation and regulatory matters for their effect on the organization.
• Holds regular event featuring state and federal officials. Among those who have appeared at MassNetComms events are Congressman Edward Markey, former Governors Romney, Cellucci, and Weld; current state Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki and others.
